LAMATEK Inc. -- Setting Blocks (Glazing Shims)

Description
LAMATEK PVC setting blocks are a replacement for your conventional rubber setting blocks that are made from a proprietary Polyvinyl Chloride grade specifically developed for this application. Only LAMATEK has the tested product that will meet your stringent application needs, allow you to easily differentiate between sizes with color coding, and save you money.

Compatability:
LAMATEK's 85 Durometer PVC setting blocks have been specially engineered for use with adhesives and liquid sealants, to ensure that plasticizer migration (a situation where the oils used to make the plastic flexible rise to the surface and alter the chemical makeup of other plastics and rubbers it contacts) does not affect either the setting block's adhesive backing or the glazing sealant used. Please contact LAMATEK for specific compatibility test information.

Application:
A minimum of two setting blocks should be placed on each edge of the sash, serving to distribute weight evenly. The dimensions of the setting block are determined by the width and length of the IG unit i.e. larger panes require longer blocks. The gauge (thickness) of the setting blocks should be consistent on all four sides of the sash in order to promote even displacement.

Put-Up:
LAMATEK's PVC setting blocks are supplied with or without adhesive kiss-cut on 3” cores. PVC setting blocks are also available without adhesive, die-cut and bulk packaged in cartons. Rolls are typically 12” in diameter, 13” in height, and weigh 55 lbs on average.

LAMATEK also offers customized options such as supplying setting blocks in pads or half rolls for easier handling, cutting wavy edges to quickly differentiate between like-sized blocks, using special cuts to simulate molded parts and much more. Ask LAMATEK about your custom needs.
